Strain - Amelia C. Gormley This is a well-written and evocative book. The world building is elaborate, and the explained science and viruses are plausibly explained. Then comes the possible ""cure"", and here we must suspend disbelief. Also, it seems lack of options has made people sexually flexible. That's a bit of a stretch for me, but it didn't feel entirely forced. What WAS forced was the choices those infected are forced to make.

This book is filled with sex. Unfortunately for me, I felt like a majority of it included dubious consent. I don't think everyone would feel this way, but it pushed my boundaries in unpleasant ways. Many feelings were provoked while reading Strain; all of these feelings fall on the negative end of the spectrum, I'm afraid.

I don't think all would be bothered by the things I was. In fact, I think the story is one many would enjoy. And as I said, it's very well written.
