Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities

Assimilation, Love, and Other Human Oddities - Lyn Gala 2.5 stars

The world building in this book is FANTASTIC. Really. It's so cool how precise and the language stuff...yeah. Massive kudos for that.

So why only 2.5 stars?

The story. This felt like the middle chapters of a much longer book. And it didn't get us far in character development or plot. The first book worked on its own as the start of a great relationship. It could have been enough. With this book, I felt more involved in the world they live in with a better understanding of both Liam and Ondry. But now it doesn't feel like an end. It feels too much the middle.

There's also some clunk dialogue, though I think some of it is due to the characters trying to explain what they mean to each other.

Overall, it's a good story. I just wish I read it when there was a 3rd book.
